Seasonal Flu Update
The Department of Health sets out
priority groups for flu
immunisation. The Seasonal Flu
Injection is only available to
certain patients who fall into these
“at risk groups”. These groups are:
- Patients aged
65 and over
- Heart Disease
- Asthma (only
if you have ordered a repeat
inhaler in the last 12 months)
- Pregnant
-
Immunosuppressed
- Chronic
Kidney Disease Stage 4
- COPD
- Carers to
cancer patients undergoing
chemotherapy/radiotherapy
Please note this
does NOT include children who
haven’t got existing serious
illnesses. However, we are
struggling to get supplies of the
flu vaccine due to a national
shortage, but we are doing our
utmost to get additional supplies on
a weekly basis.
If you fall into any of the
categories above and would like the
flu vaccine, please phone the
surgery and we will add your name to
our waiting list and will call you
when stocks have arrived.
